Hiya,
I picked up a selection of dead Squeezebox / Squeezebox 2's off e-bay a while ago. The Squeezeboxes were fairly easy to resurrect, either having dead power supplies or the notorious dead Wi-Fi card problems. The Squeezebox 2 is proving to be a bit more recalcitrant though.
Symptom wise - when you turn it on nothing happens on the display. The optical output flashes briefly. I'm not *sure* if the Squeezebox is working otherwise (so far we've got that it's drawing half an amp, after a brief power spike when turned on). I'm inclined to plug it in to the wired network in our house today, and attempt to guess my way through the menu with my one and only remote control... and see if it appears on the network.
Actual fault wise, I took it round to a friend's house tonight and it turns out the J16 anode test point on the VFD is measuring 1.2volts - does anyone know what this should be? I'm thinking it should be around 50+ volts (looking at other VFD specs) - or does anyone have the schematic for the display? All the other test points are measuring what we think they should be (3.3 / 5 volts)
If not, are there any common faults with the SB2 VFD that people've fixed? I've had a bit of a look at the forum; and not found anything yet (although I'll keep looking...)
Thanks!
